Alex Ouimet-Storrs is Managing Director for the EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) zone in Solvay Ventures, Solvay’s capital risk entity for technological investments.
He started his career at Air Liquide in Paris for 5 years, as a specialist of industrial risks and energy manager for Europe. He was responsible for the optimization of more than 800 MW of cogeneration assets in Europe.
Alex joined Truffle Capital in 2011 as the investments director. Then, he became partner for ‘Energy/Cleantech’ which it consists of investing in renewable energy production, energy companies, materials, sensors, industrial IOT, agriculture, and new chemicals. In 2014, he was promoted as associate and managed 11 societies’ portfolios. He invested in and was on the board of directors of the following companies: Actility, Dietswell, Dymeo, Sp3H, Acerde, Geocorail, 2B Energy, Demeta and Genes’ink.
Alex has a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from McGill University (Canada). He co-founded 2 startups in Canada, one of which received a Quebec prize for entrepreneurship in 2005. He is married and has two children.
